How Is Australia Really Percieved By The Rest Of The World?
How do people feel about Australia and Australians? Would you want to visit? Would you ever live in Australia?

I think that Australia is very interesting and I’d definitely like to visit someday.
Hey guys, just wanted to clear up a little misconception. Alot of people seem to assume that Australia, in its entirety is a racist country. I wont say this is presumptious as it is a unfortunate stereotype, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Just like United States and several other nations far and wide, the european settlers that came here did exploit the indigenous/natives (aborigines) that were here first and it’s undoubtedly a tragic blight on our nations history. But with that said, labelling our entire country as racist is really unfair. Not that it even remotely erases years of injustice, but our government has formally apologized to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, were the prime minister delivered a speech, saying sorry on behalf of all of Australia, a speech that was beamed live into classrooms and workplaces over P.A systems. Now again, I’m not implying that this eliminates our past demons, because that would of course be naive, but it really does speak volumes about the nations change for the better. By the way, I myself am black, born in Sydney to parents who moved here from Africa.
just thought i’d chime in with my two cents tho lol, thanks for reading =)
I was born in Australia and have lived here my whole life.
A lot of people think there are heaps of scary animals and insects but we don’t rally have many dangerous animals compared to say America where you could get eaten by a bear or cougar while camping (correct me if I’m wrong)
I honestly wish I lived in America, Canada or Africa but Australia is a great place to visit cause i guess we have lots of strange animals and people lol.
i was almost born in australia, and i’ve always been bummed that i wasn’t. as an american, i think they have super-fun accents, interesting flora & fauna, cool stuff to do. i also tend to think of them as being somewhat adventurous, but i don’t know if that’s just a stereotype… i would for sure visit/live there!
As an american teen who just moved back from living in Australia
I can tell you that most americans thing it sounds awesome but no one seems to have any plans to visit or move there, its kinda sad
most people dont really belive that everyone lives miles away from eachother, my brothers tried to trick people by saying stuff like that it didnt work at all
Id move back in an instant, cause that is the best country ever
I really never hear about the people of Australia. I just think kangaroo’s and deserts and native aboriginal people. I really don’t know that much about it. Of course it more to it than that.
im an aussie living in france and the most things i miss in australia is; the weather, vegemite, mates and the beach
Australia is AWESOME!!!
btw…I am Australian…
Well, the British sent their prisoners to Australia.
The prisoners murdered, mutilated, and raped the inhabitants already living there.
Ta-daa.
Australia.
Oh yeah, and you stole Aboriginal babies. I learned that in History class.
Deluded. I believe you think of yourselves as a ‘fair go’ people. Unfortunately this only applies to people who fit your strict criteria. Most desperate people get sent straight back to where they came from.
Doesn’t sound like a ‘fair go’ people to me.
